No More For The iPod
The iPod was released on October 23 2001 and in its various formats has sold over 220,000,000.
One of the major reasons that the company decicded to tackle the market is they felt that the equipment available was pretty bad. Steve Jobs then got his team on a newer design that people would actually be proud to have and get out of their pockets.
The original iPod did not include a windows format on it making the sales quite small simply because more people have windows than they do Mac. They scrapped this by allowing the 2nd generation to be used on Windows. They have since built many, many other generations including the mini, shuffle, and video are of course the most recent form of the player, touch. The real question is, how often can this success carry on for?
The sales of the pod itself have actually seen a bit of a dip this year and this is the first time that this has ever happened before. The truth behind it is that the iPhone can now be bought almost everywhere which is why the sales could be seeing a drop.
The iPhone actually comes with an iPod already built within it which means that alrthough the sales of the pod are down the phone sales are up. Many people have issues with the pricing. The main problem with the ipod is that with each new model comes a bigger price and half the problem seems to be that the recession is making people steer away from the expensive things.
Insurance is important for these gadgets, which is why you should look into gadget insurance or even mobile phone insurance this could really help if something bad happens to it like of course dropping it. Sat Nav Insurance could also be something worth looking into.
